Not able to make or receive calls after system update.

I have a lg v20, Android ver. 8.0.0 - Oreo. Last night it did a system update to VS99520a. Now i am unable to make or receive phone calls. When anyone calls it goes straight to voicemail, doesn't even ring on my end. When i try to make a call it rings the other end once then ends the call automatically. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
 
Who's your carrier? Go to Settings>Mobile Networks>Network Operators and make sure your carrier is selected. Check with your carrier as well to see if this is a known issue.
 
VS995 is the Verizon version. Their tech support is usually pretty decent for stuff like this, but be prepared for them to want you to factory reset the phone (so you'll also need to make sure you know your Google login info) as a last resort. As a side note, you'll need to call them from another line for any tech support issue. There are things they can do via the network, but the problematic phone can not be in use when doing so. So if for some reason you could call them from your phone, they won't be able to help until you call back from a different line.
 
Yes, this occurred on my LG v20 also with the VS99520a update on the Sep 20, 2018 update. This is why I wish we had a way to manually stop automatic updates. This may help-it did before on another update. In settings-network-mobile networks-system select-(see if global is your mode, if so change back to lte/cdma). I am trying this again because it solved the problem last time. Change happened with new update from lte/cdma to global.
 
I have the VZW version too. It's on global and the phone works fine. I think it has always been on global.
