Not able to text or receive texts Pixel 6a

[Android Central Question]

So I got a new Pixel 6a, upgrade from a 4a. Phone worked great for 5 days, then yesterday I am unable to receive or send texts. I had it at the Spectrum store, for 5 hours they couldn't figure it out. I have a call in for a call back from Google tech, but meanwhile, any troubleshooting I can do. Spectrum mobile seems to think (as do i) that it is some setting issue but I have no idea where to look. Is it in my google acct ? HELP. I can internet, call in, call out, just no messages.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have RCS Chat turned on in the Google Messages app settings? If so, try turning it off temporarily, since RCS can sometimes be a little glitchy.
