Not downloading pics

Received txt pic msg. Has Download or Reject. When I click
on download it says downloading and just hangs there.

Size of pic is 121kb.

Is your data connection on? I think pics sent by MMS require your 4G or 3G data connection to be on.

Sorry, am noob. What U mean if data connection is on? 3g is working.
What setting should I check.

go into manage apps, messaging, and clear the cache. see if that helps.

I found that you have to be on 3g or 4g to download MMS pics. I was on wifi and it did the same thing.

Yes, data connection is 3G or 4G. Many people keep it on all the time, but others (like me) turn it on only when needed. Sounds like yours is on, so I'm not sure why it isn't downloading, unless your 3G connection is just slow as mud. Do you get 4G in your area?

Clearing the messaging cache, as previously suggested by bradenfontaine, is worth a try.

Another thing to consider: were you expecting a pic sent via MMS? In this age of spam and malware, I'd be wary of downloading anything sent via text from an unknown source.

Agreed. Seen some funky stuff come through a text message. Not necessarily a virus, but maybe bad code?

Went into messaging to try to "Clear cache" but its light grey and wont allow clear..
In fact everything is light grey. Starting with Force stop Cancel Clear data move to media area Clear cache Clear defaults.

Its Messaging version 2.3.6 and says No defaults set.
