I work in the gig economy, which frequently has me driving around. I got Android Auto recently for the purpose of making things easier on me. For the most part, it has been a godsent. However, there is been one hitch that I would like to take care of. Before I got Android Auto, whenever I received an offer for a gig, my phone would chirp at me. I could then deem whether or not it would be safe to look, and if so make a quick check as to whether or not I wanted to accept the gig. But with Android Auto, that no longer happens. So in order to avoid missing out on work, I have taken to holding my phone in my hand while I am driving and frequently glancing at it to make sure that I don't miss any offers.
Obviously, that's not the safest thing to do. But I can't afford not to. Literally, I cannot afford it. So how do I bypass Android Auto suppressing the chirping noise that my gig app produces when I'm not plugged into Android Auto?
