I set the navigation on my phone using Here App but it's not communicating with my watch. Is there a setting I am missing? I have Here App checked in the Gear App.

It's worked for me on my Gear s2 classic and my Note 4. But not all that reliably. It sometimes takes me several tries to establish the connection, and if the connection and/or navigation gets interrupted, it can hang, so I'll have to power my watch off/on. Does the watch's Here app give you a screen saying to establish a connection with the app on your phone, or does it not get that far?

No, the watch does not ask for any pairing, nor does the phone app. Does your watch ask each time or once during set up? Is there a special Here App for the phone to be used with the watch? Maybe I can delete the app and reinstall it.

I have the 3G model and it seems to want to run independently. I turned off GPS on watch and still can't connect. When you set the phone to destination will it automatically open up on watch or do you need to open the watch app manually. Can you explain the steps you use.

I've had it work two ways. I. Straight from the watch: first run the Here app on the watch, and after a pause on a "finding location" screen, it comes up with your location (a street address). Pressing the arrow/nav symbol at the bottom of the screen brings up a list of recent destinations, which you can scroll through and select, which brings up a "getting routes" screen and then a choice of auto or walking routes. Select one, and then the Here app is launched on the phone and directions appear on the watch.

Method II: Run the Here app on the phone, select a route and start guidance, and then (with luck) the directions appear on your watch.

Both of these have not been anywhere near 100% reliable for me. I think location services are still one of those things that are a bit unstable on this ecosystem.

Thanks for your help, clearly method 2 is not working for me. I will have to play around with it to see if I can get the "occasional" hook up.
