Not Happy with Interface Changes in Gingerbread Update 2.3.3

Is anyone taking issue with the way "Contacts" and "Settings" are now displayed? I can't figure the logic of why they changed it when it was already great. Now I hate it....

Before my update to Gingerbread 2.3.3 my “Contacts” and “Settings” pages were displayed as white text on a black background. For some stupid reason someone had the bright idea to change it to black text on a bright white background and no option for the user to switch it. Who in their right mind wants to look at their contacts or settings with black text on white background? This must be a mistake. No one with any level of intelligence would make such a change. Now it is so difficult and annoying to read. It's a strain on my eyes to look at these and it sure doesn't have any imagination in design. Surely, I can't be the only one who's unhappy about the reversal of these displays.

Has anyone noticed the two fixed icons appearing at the bottom of my home page – “Dialer” and “Contacts”. They both are exactly the same. The very first time you select Dialer it does what it says, but if you search on a contact or select favorites the next time you click on it, it comes up looking just like the “Contacts” icon. So what were they thinking?? Another genius idea. Seems like a dialer should be exactly that. It should at least default to the dialer every time. I do love the idea the from the dialer I can search for contacts/fav’s, but should a dialer always default to dialer??

I hope Google has it in their plan to put things back the way they were. Like they always say - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" It was just fine the way it was!!

The dialer and contacts icons are not fixed. The only one of the four fixed icons that you can't change is the app tray launcher.

You can just go with another dialer if you're not happy with things the way they are, Dialer One has a dark theme you may appreciate. This is Android, if you don't like it you can change it!

Arrogant much?

Look at a book some time. Notice how many of them are white text on black? Almost none. Dark text on a light background is, for most people, easier to read.

So far as I can see, you're the only one complaining.

Nope, no one else has noticed any fixed icons at the bottom of the home page. Well, with the exception of the App Drawer icon they are changeable. Stock GB has four icons on the dock.

Oh yes, I'm absolutely sure that this was intentional. Did it ever occur to you that this may be a BUG? Have you reported it to Verizon so they can pass it on to Moto?

Did you look through the Market for either a replacement dialer app (there are several) or a skin? I'm using the Launcher Pro skin. The shortcuts it provides for Dialer vs Contacts for the dock work properly.

gordol, you act like it was a personal attack against you. Take it easy. Again another uptight forum user
