Not receiving long text all at once

So here's the problem- everytime I receive a long text, it gets received in multiple messages in the wrong order. For example, when I get a 3 part- they're supposed to come in like (1/3),(2/3), (3/3), in that order. But I don't get them in that order, and the last message comes in a few minutes after the previous one does. If only I can include a screenshot because I know I'm doing a horrible job of trying to explain this. Any help will be truly grateful.

Check the settings on your messaging app (or if you're using a 3rd party one) and see if the option to split long messages is not active. It might also be that the sender is splitting the messages, not your phone... Usually happens with iPhones or some Google Voice numbers (although those have issues receiving long messages, usually, not sending).
