Not Recognizing "Dad" When Creating New SMS

When I try to create a new text to my dad, when I type in "dad" nothing comes up. He's in my contacts as "dad". He's linked to his Facebook account through Haxsync, and if I type in his real name he shows up. I'm new to this phone coming from a DNA, and that phone didn't do this. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

Examine the contact. Look at where dad shows up in what field. Adjust as needed until it works. After you can tell now to send dad a text.

I went in to the contact and deleted his name then put it back in. Strangely enough it now works.

Glad you got it working. I was going to suggest that you add "dad" as a nickname to his contact.
