Android Central Question
My phone has been working perfectly since I bought it, but this morning I noticed I'm not able to use data or make calls or send texts. I initially thought network settings so I reset my network settings and performed a reboot to no avail. Next I decided to see if I could manually set my network provider on the phone since in Settings>About>Sim Status it says Network provider: unknown, however this couldn't be done, issuing me "Error while searching for networks" and "Unable to connect, try later" errors. I checked if Wifi calling may be interfering but also this was turned off. I then decided to see if it was the SIM card, so I did a SIM swap with my housemate who has a Galaxy S7 also on Vodafone but my SIM worked in his phone and his didn't work in mine, enforcing the fact it is my phone which isn't working properly and not my SIM card. I also tried setting the Network mode to 3G/2G (auto connect) and back to 4G/3G/2G (auto connect) to no avail which finally led me to perform a HARD RESET on my mobile, wiping all data and settings as a last ditch effort to fix the issue, but after it booted up (and I purposefully avoided downloading all my settings again from Samsung Cloud) I am still facing the exact same issue and am totally at a loss. If anyone has any advice or guidance then please help, otherwise I will be forced to return the phone to the vendor. I am extremely upset that something like this can just happen overnight, and somehow not be fixable by software? Can a hardware fault occur just overnight?! Madness.
