Was just in a store. They've only sold 2 so far today, said they had more in stock than they have on pre-order, so there are units for walk-ins, and a check of their system shows that stores are running between 1 and 5 sales so far today.

Looks like maybe that $250 price point is doing its job.

Depends on where you live. Here in NYC I went to best Buy and all were gone so had to go to Sprint store and everyone was in there buying.

Makes sense. They probably got a lot of preorders but people went to best buy/radioshack instead because of hte rebates. I might get a second Epic tomorrow though at the sprint store, since it is reserved.

Ya, my sample size would not hold up under peer review ;-) The system check was supposedly region-wide.

The Best Buy closest to my job in El Segundo, CA, only had Epics for pre-orders.
The next closest one had a shipment of 15 Epics. 10 were for pre-orders, and 5 were for walk-ins. I got walk-in Epic number 3 at 11am. There was one left as I walked out at noon.

I just picked up my wife's here in the New Orleans area, at a corporate store. He said (and it seemed) it was nothing compared to the EVO launch day. He said that the pre-reservations seemed to help though, because everyone is not there at the same time.

I saw nothing to really advertise and push people except pre-order from Sprint, of which I'm not nearly ready for upgrade renewal. I hope they sell well, I'm sure a lot of people waiting on Evo's will look hard at this one, I would.
Now, what I want, is the Samsumg S model, without keyboard, and thinner.
Maybe by the time my contract is up . . . .

I'm in OKC. I got to BB 20 minutes after it opened and I got the last one that wasn't preordered. Two people bought them before I got in and they probably had 10 preorders that weren't picked up yet. I called different best buy yesterday and they said they had 20 preorders already and only had a few extra. It's looking like a good launch. I bet it would beat the evo numbers if it cost $200.
