Safe mode is a mode that you put it in to determine if 3rd party apps are responsible for this . You press the power button until screen displays power off then long press it until it says safe mode see if it goes away, then just restart the device to exit out .

It just started when I did the security update. It’s a hardware thing. That line isn’t software. Can you see it?

Usually members post a issue like to see if it's something they can fix before taking action like returning or warranty. So what's your purpose in posting may I ask?

If you’re return it anyways, I’d do the factory reset to see if the line appears after wiping it out and factory software reloaded. That would be enough proof for me it’s hardware. You just got it so you probably wouldn’t be losing any important data anyways.

Looks like it a software causing this. Line too thick and even to be hardware fault.

Did you installed some edge activated gesture app?

I don't think this to a hardware issue. Reset the device.
