I've been hearing a debate from audiophiles regarding wolfson DAC vs the one in Qualcom. I read in the specs that the Note 3 snapdragon edition has compatibility with higher bitrate audio?
Anyone give their opinions on it who has it?
For the 5 minutes I got to play with it with my business rep yesterday, the speaker is fine. Much better than the note two, the placement and the quality is pretty noticeable, given I was playing Angry Birds Starwars 2 and not listening to music....
It okay.. For phone calls, but not for much else. The speaker dynamics just can't handle it, no matter how many bits and bytes the dac has. Comparing it to other phones, I think they don't do it significately better either.
Btw. Logitech's boombox ue (mobile) is fantastic for the size.

It has 24 bit audio support so you'll probably hear it better using proper headphones than using the speaker it came with, but that fact that it did bring support for this higher quality audio speaks volume of their attempts to bring hardcore items to their cellphones (3GB of ram, world first, 4k recording world first, usb micro 3.0 world first)
