I called several local stores and they all said 10/10 when I asked about pricing they all said $299 with new contract and they knew nothing about it being $349 with a $50 mail in rebate. I hope they are right.

They probably mean $299 after the $50 mail in rebate... did you ask specifically about the rebate?

Don't let a 50 buck rebate stop you. If you charge it, there's a good chance you will get your $50 before the bill is due.
