Note 3 Lagging: What To Do?

My Note 3 has been lagging, sometimes pretty badly, and I need some advice as to what I can do. One thing that is really annoying is swype texting won't keep up. It's infuriating.
And if I end up having to do a reset, will I lose all my pics and music etc.? I'm technology level 101 when it comes to this stuff but am always looking to expand my knowledge so I don't have to bother people with stupid questions like this. My apologies.
Any thoughts?

if it continues after what B. Diddy suggested.... Do a screen shot of your "running" services and post here. Could be an app you recently installed that consuming your memory.

Thanks everyone. I wiped the cache in recovery and it seems to have helped. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

My wife's note 3 was lagging really bad and clearing the cache didn't help. So we moved all the music and pictures to the sd card then took out the sd card. Then factory reset the phone. Then put the sd card back in after the phone was back to usable following the reset. Fixed Her system lag. We tried to find a rogue app or something but eventually Just reset the phone and it worked.
