As a former iPhone user I find myself forever double pressing the home key only to get the damned S-voice app kicking in. Is there a way to change the phones behaviour on a home key double press?

Open S-Voice app, hit MENU, go to SETTINGS, turn off "Use Home Button To Launch S-Voice" (or something to that effect).

Why double click home at all, for anything?

How long have you been so far, away from iPhone? Just give yourself time to get used to your new device. It will happen before too long. :-)

Thanks guys. Fixed now. I've been using the Note 3 for about 3 weeks now and mostly am loving it.

Here's another issue. I can't actually remember doing it but at some point I must have chosen to sync my Facebook friends with my Google calendar. Now, when I open the calendar app I'm faced with birthdays on nearly every day of the year! That's a lot of gifts, lol. Is there a way to un - sync the friends?

Go to calendar, hit the menu button >, calendars and see if you're Facebook account is listed there. If so, uncheck it.

Brilliant! That fixed it and it was so easy.

Here's an annoying thing - is there any way to get rid of t h e stupid warning that is displayed when I turn the volume up whilst listening via headphones? It's seriously doing my head in.

Eventually you'll break yourself of the double-tap habit.

And eventually, you can probably get rid of the warning via root and an Xposed module, or maybe Tasker (phenominal app in the Play Store, but a really steep learning curve), or a different ROM.

Good luck!

Tasker is installed but ill wait for the weekend and do some more research beforehand

I use Home2 Shortcut app to get my home button double press to go into Google Voice Search (or any app you want). I have been using this app for a number of phones including the Note 3. Hope it helps you.
