Why does this have to be rocket science? I just want to be able to have more memory on my card and keep what I have without having to root the phone. I would rather not get into a long thread about KitKat 4.4.2, security issues, SD card shortcomings or rooting. I just want to know how to do this one (what should be a simple) task.

Shut off phone, remove 8GB card, insert into USB card reader, hook to computer, create temp folder, copy ALL content, remove 8GB card from card reader, insert 32GB card into card reader, hook up to computer, (if its not formated, right click the 8GB unit and click properties, then make sure you format the NEW card the same way the old card is), copy ALL back to the new card. Then put in phone and turn back on. All should be good.

Thats how i have been doing it for years with other devices and have had no issues.
The ONLY thing i may do differently is put in the 64GB card into the phone and have the phone format the card. Then copy stuff to it.

It would write from the 8Gb card in a USB adapter to the PC temp file until it got to the Android folder where it stopped.

How do I format the 64Gb card in the phone?

That worked. When you format the SD card it creates a Android folder. I guess I assumed that since I bought a Samsung SD card that it would work out of the box. Brain fart.

Thanks.
