Whenever I plugged it into my car charger I noticed today I started at 78% on the ride home and it was plugged in and showed it was charging, when I got home I was at 70%. Is there a certain kind of charger I can get to have fast charging in the car possibly? Will this Anker work? That should work pretty well. Do you have any idea what the specs of your current charger are? And when your phone was plugged in, were you using it for anything processor-intensive, like navigation with GPS on?

That was happening to me also. It puzzled me until I figured out that charging two items at one time drained the batteries. If you are changing two items at once try unplugging one and see what happens

I have this car charger and it works great! Phone charges fast whether I have 2 devices plugged in or just 1.

It could be an issue with the cable or charger. I have similar and it should charge around 0-50% in one hour with screen off. If you need faster, a qualcomm quick charge 2.0 compatible charger can do about 50% in 30 minutes.

Go to Settings->Battery. Plug in your charger. Where is states 'Not Charging' should change to 'Charging (AC)'. If it shows 'Charging (USB)', then the charger, or cable, has a problem. It is charging at a very slow rate because it thinks it is plugged into a USB port on a PC. This is usually caused by the charger being designed for a 'fruit' phone. Apple does not follow the Micro USB standard for chargers. You can try another charger, or modify the charger.
I have also seen cables with issues. Some cables have such small wire in them, that they can't carry the current needed to charge very quickly. Or they don't have data lines to indicate an AC fast charge. Try the cable that came with the phone, on you car charger, to see if it is just the cable.

I have gotten 3 amp chargers and good cables that still charge slow, because they are intended to work with iPhones. I tear them apart and modify them to charge an Android properly.

1. Get a decent high output charger. I recently bought a cheap MPower charger. works fine to keep phone charging while navigating (screen always on).

2. Use this app to verify current flow. "Galaxy Charging Current "light""

I have this charger and it works fine. I would check the cord and and also to see if it's charging at USB speeds. This charger is designed to switch automatically between all the voltages, could be a problem with the charger you got. Anker has been good to me on the past, so I would not expect problems getting it fixed.

There are plenty of car charger out their if your okay with using the Anker brand then that's good but if your experiencing any negative effect to you android phone better change to another brand of car charger.
