Watching the live video this morning, I think I saw a tiny feature that really excited me:

Using the S-Pen on the home button, without physically pushing the button down. Did anyone else notice this?

When the Note 8.0 and Note 3 came out with S-Pen sensitive back and menu buttons, as a first gen Note user I got real excited (although I still would prefer the 4 capacitive buttons over the now standard physical home button)

I think this is what you're talking about. It's a nice little feature.

It seems like he may have just been using the pen tip to push the home button.

How awsome. I remember back to the original note, I couldn't even use the S-pen with the capacitive buttons. Now you can use it with everything. :)
