Hi,

So I made a post a while ago about getting a phone as a gift. I'm looking at used note 4s so they cost about £300, which is about the moto X cost.

I'm ready to order it now which is why I've made the new thread, I was wondering how the two phones stack up against one another performance wise? Also if I've missed any obvious alternatives?

The age old question the apple or the orange?

Really depends what you're looking for in a phone. On one hand you have the note 4 which has all the bells and whistles. Maybe some bells and whistles you don't necessarily want or need but you have the option. Great camera and great display if you like AMOLED. And don't forget about the s pen

On the other hand you have the Moto X pure which is a closer version 2 stock Android. Add to that the Moto features and the customisation of moto maker and you have a super smooth phone.

Personally I went with the Moto X pure

Ah right, well I was just wondering how they compare in terms of performance? Similar I'm guessing?

Specs are useful but not the be all and end all, or id just try and compare hardware.

Just looking at performance, the Moto is the fastest, smoothest phone I've ever had. With the Moto features it's the best phone for me.

Good luck with your choice.

How long does the moto x last battery wise compared to the note 3?
Which screen is usable in daylight?
Do you miss the IR or the s-pen?
Does it feel faster than the note 3?

Both appear to last a day which is fine, I think the note 4 may have a little more but not by a huge amount (the battery has more capacity).

Both?

No.

I don't know, hence the thread :p
