Was chatting earlier with a good friend about Motorola's new line of devices. My friend is a power ebay seller. He has a GS6 Edge and myself a Note 4 of course. Anyway he is trying to convince me to sell my Note 4 and use the money to get the Moto X Style. The going rate for a newish Note 4 on ebay is around 360 ish. Would you switch from the Note 4 to the Moto X Style?

In a heartbeat. But that is because I don't use the S-Pen. Ever. If you use that at all, I have been told you will miss it greatly. Had a friend who used it very little but missed it immensely when he went with a different phone.

I don't think I would. Removable battery, expandable storage. The Style is nice but if I had to choose I'd choose the Note 4 every time.

The Moto has the expandable storage.

The question is "Is losing the removable battery worth the extra 32 gb and the other improvements?"

All you're gaining is perhaps a slightly faster SoC and a different OS UI (maybe faster updates?). Camera is probably worse, but I haven't seen stills from it.

Unless you really like the phones aesthetics or there's just something about your Note you don't like, I dunno why you would trade.

Three months ago I would have agreed with you completely. My Note 4 was perfect, and none of the coming updates would have really tempted me.

Since the 5.0 update, my SOT has gone from 6-7 hour to 3-4 hours. I'm getting a fair amount of lag and freezes, and once or twice a week my phone goes to the red screen and I have to pull the battery to get my phone working again.

Now, maybe all that will get fixed with a theoretical 5.1.1 update, but given that that upgrade my be a long time out, I use my phone for 4 hours or more a day, and that I can upgrade and sell my Note 4, I'm looking at what's coming out.

I'd switch. In fact I will probably switch to the moto x style when my upgrade comes up in a few months. Only thing I wonder about is the battery life on the moto...

Aaah, that's riiiight. La Style not have the S Pen though. Yet it cost...nearly half as much. Hmmm. I think I'd still take thee Note.

In a similar boat. Just bought my Note 4 (Swappa for $360), arrived on Monday and am debating reselling it and using my Nexus5 until the Pure is released.
At which point, 16gb and a 64micro SD card for 80GB of storage is pretty tempting.

The biggest draw to sell the Note at the moment is the battery life. 5.0.1 is just ripping my battery to shreds. I'm getting about 2.5hrs SOT and if I'm not on wifi (despite a strong cell signal), I'm losing about 10% an hour without looking at the phone. I'm at about 20% by end of day. This isn't horrible, but I really miss the battery life of the Note3 I had a year ago that still had 40-50% battery at the end of the day

Once a really good camera review gets done, that'll settle it for me. I love updates, but the horrendous camera that's plagued the Moto X series in the past has kept me from buying one.

I'm kind of coming down the same way. If the Note 5 has the SD card slot, then I will take the Note. Otherwise, the Moto X, or stick with the Note 4 and hope for a software update that fixes the battery life and crashes.
