Marshmallow on Note 5

Saw this Tech Times article that Marshmallow for the Note 5 has been approved and is uploading.

So the update is 'imminent'.

Anyone excited about this?

Here, according to PhoneArena, is when you can expect your Samsung phone to get Marshmallow:

Everytime a OS update is released it seems to just screw up a perfectly good working phone.

Not excited at all. New updates usually make a perfect non problem phone a problem phone. I wish i could turn off the update notify and not be bothered or forced with update.

Eh. Tech times sucks. They lost credibility with me when they wrote an article about how Samsung pay is like apple pay and uses NFC to pay. Missing a big part of the advantage to Samsung pay. Lazy reporting at best.

That article shows one Note 5 model. Perhaps its for an International model. Could be next year before carrier specific versions arrive.

I've had Marshmallow on my Nexus 5, for about a month now, and it's nothing to write home about. It's more like 5.1.2, rather than 6.0. I wouldn't take the upgrade until all the kinks are worked out.

I will be shocked if carrier variants get MM by December. I wonder if they're talking about the release for models directly from Samsung.

Yes I think so. The articles I've seen that show what is purported to be a screenshot of the release schedule shows the Note SM-N9208 which is the Phillipines, Malaysia and Taiwan version.

I'm just looking forward to getting Doze to improve battery life. It's fantastic on my Nexus 6.
