Note 5 wifi connects automatically, even when off

Hi,

Ever since I updated to Marshmallow, my ATT Note 5 automatically connects to the wifi even though I have the wifi off. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I have every auto connect feature turned off, but the wifi still connects.

Some apps use WiFi for location accuracy and will scan even when it is off, my N5 from Sprint you can turn it off by clicking the Scanning settings link under the WiFi On /Off toggle. Hope this helps.
