Note 7 replacement

Coming from a Nexus 6 to a Note 7 I had already contemplated returning the Note 7. The recall was a blessing in disguise. Now that I'm free of the Samsung trash bloatware / UI. What should I replace it with? My Nexus 6 is feeling dated. The Pixel XL is seeming like the only solid option. I'm just not sold on the 5.5 screen. The Note 7 screen was already a lot smaller than my Nexus 6's. I have no interest in the LG V20. What should I get?

Sounds like you need the note 7 back. ONLY option in here

That's the unfortunate truth. While it's a great phone, I'm worried about Samsung. Their phones typically don't have great shelf life due to the vast amount of bloatware forced down it's throat. I turned on Note 7 on one day to find 7 games installed. Games that I'd never play or install myself. I'm also worried about Samsung quickly updating the Note 7 to Android 7.0. Something my Nexus 6 already has.

Also, one thing that I'm not sure many people have noticed that really really bugged me. There is light bleed around the entire border of the phone. If you're looking at your phone in a dark setting look around the edge of your phone. There will be a ring of light. It's in the crack where the screen meets the metal frame.

I used mine a lot in a dark room and never noticed any light bleeding out. Maybe I was just enjoying it too much to notice?

It's not a design flaw. It is intentional. It's also been discussed. It's some where in the book that comes with the phone.

Hi! Well, the good news is that there will be a lot of good options coming up soon. You can always see what the Pixel series is like just in case.

As far as other choices are concerned, how do you feel about the HTC 10? Sony Xperia series? Any particular quality or spec you're looking for in a phone?

You know you can disable all those right?
But you should consider only stock android phones if you don't want all the carrier bloatware, which there aren't too many options
Any other phone you purchase would have bloatware

I was looking at the Xperia series. I have no interest in HTC as they've had a bad track record with updating their phones. I realize the Pixel is likely made by them but that will be getting the updates before anything else. Which Xperia would you recommend? The main thing I want is a 2560x1440 OLED screen. After having an AMOLED screen for two years I don't think I'd be able to switch back to anything less. At this point I think it would make more sense for me to wait until the Snapdragon 821's are releasing. I really hope the Pixel XL has an 821.

I hear what you're saying about HTC. Well, I don't know too much about the Sony Xperia Z (or a similar title - I'm not too sure of its exact title), but I saw it in the Bell store yesterday and it's sick! Really nice display. I'd look at that one for sure.
