Hi guys I'm looking to move from the iPhone 7 plus to the note 8. Not impressed with the latest from Apple at all and I've had several notes and they were all decent !
Does the snapdragon CPU in the n8 hold a candle to the bionic ? Seems the bionic blows it away but not sure
I also have sprint and an changing providers due to ****ty service and coverage so back to Verizon or perhaps xfinity mobile
I would my cell for just about anything But mostly business use and the data/voice feature simultaneously is so key for me and sprint doesn't have that !

No, Apple's Bionic chip does beat the Qualcomm 835 from what I have seen and read. The performance isn't going to be massively better on the Bionic, but it will be noticeable. I would say get the Note though, speed is probably the only thing Apple has over Samsung. Carrier wise, I have Verizon. They are ok, but if you are able to get T-Mobile in your area, I would recommend them. I have friends who have gone from Verizon to T-Mobile and they see a lot of benefits from it. Xfinity Mobile, though, I don't know about, if you have Comcast/Xfinity cable or wifi, then they would be a good option, and they would still be a good option even without having any of their other services. I don't know anyone who uses Xfinity Mobile, so I can't speak on how well it works, but from what I do know is they use Verizon towers, and their hotspots from their routers as well, for their service.

IMO you look from a performance number standpoint the 835 can keep up with the A10 Fusions on the iPhone 7/Plus and remember the 7 is a 2016 phone.

The A11 on paper just is looking next level.

But remember even Samsungs Exynos outperforms the Snapdragons and shown to outperform its SD counterparts for at least the last couple of generations.

The 835 will be ok on the Note 8.

Alleged iPhone X benchmarks pop up, blows away the Samsung Galaxy S8 in every regard

Basically Snapdragons on the North American Notes and pretty much the rest of the world gets the Exynos version. Besides being faster and better on battery, I believe it also has a better DAC too.

Thanks for the feedback ! Doesn't the note 8 use snapdragon or exynos?

I see a lot of misinformation here. My s5 runs everything with minimal lag. My iPhones going all the way back to the 6 plus are all fine. Your looking into stuff way too much. I don't see a difference between the exynos 835 or the a10.

IOS will always be faster bc the hardware and software is built in house. That is always better.

At the end of the day pick what OS you want and stop worrying. Your still limited to house fast your connection is and the speed of UI transition. We have already passed the threshold of performance improvement vs noticeable benefits. Anything more and it's significantly deminished return.

Using split screen watching YouTube and typing this at the same time is more than enough performance. Something the "bionic" iPhone can't do. Benchmarks and those pointless speed tests mean nothing cause nowadays all flagships are fast. Its what kinda freedom and options you want in a device that matters. With the N8 you get everything and so much more. I think the closest comparison in an apple product would be an iPad pro with apple pencil. I know iPhones are fast but that's cause you got next to nothing in hardware and software. You could put iOS on a 50$ Walmart special phone and it will be fast. If you just want a solid stock phone and don't mind waiting years for the latest tech stick with iPhones. If you want the latest tech and features get a N8.

So this snapdragon is is pretty advanced and no slouch by any means

Yeah, the 835 is no slouch whatsoever. I just meant that the A11 is going to be a bit faster than the 835. I'm using the 820 in my V20 and it works just fine.

Yea comparing the a10 to a snapdragon to a exynos is like comparing typical vacuum cleaners. They all clean but some do better in certain situations then other but in the end it's all the same.

On a side note, ha ha ha, the Note 2 I believe was a exynos processor and those were pretty powerful for their time. I think that was one of my favorite notes besides the 5 and this one. I sadly never got to use a note 7
