Note 8 - Do I have something different here?

I buy and sell from time to time and recently came across a Note8. I checked the IMEI and it is legitimate. But there are some strange markings on it and an app or two that I am not sure are standard issue since I haven't gotten my hands on another Note8 to compare. What are your opinions?

Definitely a test device of some sort. Likely not intended to be resold. Have you put a sim in it and does it work?

Unless that's stuff that comes on the free Samsung Insights phones or whatever they call it where they give people a free phone in exchange for testing it for a year or whatever? Someone here got a S8 from them... @Garz?

Looks like a test unit.
Please type in *#0*# in the dialer and take a screenshot?

Is just me or do those multiple openings along the bottom and top look like mini sensors?

How is the the Dual Camera setup? Does everything look normal there?

Also maybe get AIDA64
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.finalwire.aida64

Take some screenshots in System (blur out you Serial before you post!)
Camera, Sensors, and Devices.

You may have a test mule that may have some interesting hardware that never made it to production units.

What's odd is even without a SIM card, it shows the signal icon (no, not wifi).
Everything else seems normal, but again, nothing to compare to really.
Here are some more shots...

It looks like either an internal device or a device intended for an early adopter for testing. Manufacturers put marks on the phone like that so that they can identify who leaked photos of a device under development.
