Ha, I'm the same.
My work phone gets lots of abuse because of what it represents . Love to hate my work device.
( Currently a S7 )

Seems like overkill to me. Maybe if you needed that extra layer of security. I see this benefitting the employer more than the end user. AFAIK, there's no issue with security on most current Samsung phones.
Also, I'm sure this wouldn't be a consideration for people who already own a Note8.

Interesting. I use my N8 as my business phone on our system. It's not an enterprise model though. Of course this is the only Android device IT allows on our system. I think they are afraid of an open source software device in the wrong hands. They also mention support as an issue.

Android is a nightmare for enterprises because there are so many flavors and vulnerabilities that go unpatched due to poor security updates. We have a strict policy of only supporting samsung devices because of Knox and the fact that they are serious about security.

They should be ensuring 3 years of security updates to all Notes Enterprise for a $1000 phone.
