note 8 low speaker volume?

hi guys
is there a reason why,when speaking on the phone, unless the person is on speaker, I can barely hear them on the other end?
Its so weird. Speaker is fine and when speaking through my gear 3 is also fine, but anytime I put the device up to my ear..its sooo low..
suggestions?

You didn't mention if you had turned up the volume or not so I'll suggest that first. If it's already at max, tap on the three dots in the upper right while on a call and tap on "Turn on extra volume".

figure it my screen protector was covering the speaker.. wow I feel stupid.. thanks though
