Note 8 on Sprint. Question about international use.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding international use of a Note 8 running on Sprint.

My fiancée and I both have identical Note 8s running on the Sprint network. Both are running Android 8.0.0. Sprint unlimited everything plan.

She is traveling abroad in a couple weeks. Will we be able call each other or at very least, text?

Any information, thoughts, ideas, comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you for the time and have a great day!

Yes, check out the link and ensure the countries she's visiting are on it. I'm on Verizon and while in Japan I was able to use my Note 8 for $10/day with unlimited text and voice and a 500MB data cap.

Depending on how long she's visiting and what countries it may be more cost effective to get a local SIM.

With a WiFi connection in the right countries you should be able to use wifi calling. With WhatsApp & a WiFi connection you will be able to talk & text

True. With that said, I do recommend using a VPN if you are using a public unsecured WiFi though. Actually, even if you are not using public WiFi, I would recommend using a VPN while travelling abroad. I use PIA, but NordVPN is really good too. Hotspot VPN is nice, but it can be a HUGE battery hog when compared to PIA or NordVPN.
