note 8 oreo update no google now?

After Oreo update my phone says device isn't compatible for google now

Just downloaded my on Virgin Mobile Canada and my Google Now is working fine. I have the Note 8.

Me too on HTC U11 . Did a factory reset as home key stopped working. Now google now and google photos say they are incompatible with my device???

I had this problem when I first upgraded to Oreo. I found the Google app was gone on the phone. Had to download the Google app and then the assistant again from the play store and it started working. Apparently the assistant shows not compatible unless the Google app is installed.

works on both mine, one I flashed myself and the other got the OTA, both Exynos models

also, the one I flashed I did a factory reset first and the other I didn't, only cleared cache in recovery
