Note 8 restarts on its own

Over the past few weeks, I've woken up to find that my phone has restarted in the middle of the night. The only way I noticed is that it asks for a password after the restart when I wake up. The only time it has caused a problem is when I have it on my wireless charger and apparently it doesn't resume charging. It is so random that I haven't been able to find the cause. I don't think it has gotten that many updates. It does it both on the wireless charging and wired charging. Even stranger, I've never heard it restart, and I'm a light sleeper. Am I missing a setting? Phone works great besides this. A you ideas?

Mine has reset itself a couple of times but usually while I have it with me during the day. I'm not sure what causes it either but wiping the cache in recovery mode usually does the trick it is happened I would say three times to me since September 7th when I got the phone

The phone is still under warranty, so if there's a fix, it's going to be free. (It could just be a bug in the update - that seems to be going around a lot recently.)

To the original poster-did you try to wipe the cache yet in recovery mode? That seems to help clear up glitchy stuff.

in settings, under general management - - reset... check if you have accidentally set auto restart
