I've loved my N8 for over two years now, and owned Notes before that. I really haven't used the stylus in quite some time and was thinking about waiting until next Spring to get the S11. But, Samsung really made it impossible to say no to a new S10+.

The combination of their new online discount (I've been watching this for over a month), with my N8 trade-in and free Galaxy Buds (which I was planning on buying as a holiday gift) brought this phone down to about $370 in net cost. Hard for me to say no.

The wide angle lens is a big draw for me and I am looking forward to exploring that, as getting a wide angle lens for my old Nikon back in the day opened up some new visual possibilities.

Got a couple of general questions about my move to the S10+:

- Did you folks keep the pre-installed screen protector on for long?
- I ordered TPU screen protectors (I favor TPU) that say that they are ultra-sonic fingerprint-compliant. I just read that someone here needed to buy Samsung protectors to make sure their reader works. What gives?
- On T-Mobile am I likely to get OneUI 1.0 out of the box? Is there an easy upgrade path to the 2.0 Beta that doesn't require side-loading?

Otherwise, I think the user experience will be quite similar to my N8. Looking forward to my first wide-angle lens on a smartphone!

Yet one more question!

Is the "quick charging" on the S10+ any different than the quick charging on my Note 8? The same cable that I am using now will quick charge on the S10+?

Since I posted the questions above, I did some digging and found my answers.

I'll likely be back with more questions once I get the S10+.
