Note 8 with new U1 update. How can I get rid of circles around apps?

[Android Central Question]

Since uploading the U1 update last week most of my apps have a white circle (donut) around them, how can I get rid of them?

Also, is there any way to get a visible notification that I have a new text and a number of texts received ? Seems both have gone away since the update was loaded.

Any ideas?

Go to Settings, Wallpapers and themes, and then Icons. There are lots of choices. I'm using ColorBlastUX. Kills the apple-ish circles and gives a vibrant look to a lot of the icons.
