My note 9 regardless of what setting I have it on the display turns off within 15 seconds. Even if I set it to 5 minutes or 10 minutes, it still turns off within 15 seconds.
Any thoughts anyone?

It will remain on watching YouTube. But if I minimize screen. Boom the screen dims within 15 seconds and off the screen goes.

This is a replacement device for a replacement device!!!😭
Before I turn up on Sprint has anyone experienced this before?

You use any power saving modes or smart stay?

Does a blue lock icon appear?

Did you recently install any apps that might be causing a conflict? See if it does it in safe mode.

No bud no power savings modes used.

The replacement device they sent me was defective. So they gave me another fresh device out the box. And all is well.
That's the thing with refurbished devices. They may have a basic check list. But depending on who's doing the actually assessment of the device, depends upon if the device actually should be sent back out.

Is the person dedicated to get the device certified and officially repaired? Or are they just passing them through to get them back out to customers who are in need of a replacement!

This really would determine getting a new device over a refurb.
If there's availability for a refurb, then that's what you're going to get and you hope that it's a working device. I'm not saying all refurbs are bad. I'm saying all mine were.
Unfortunately I have had three devices in the past 6 months. Total trash!!
Immaculate devices returned to them and it hurt sending them back because I always kept my devices in mint condish. But when issues arise and they can't even fix them what else can I do? I love the note 9.

Finally Asurion had sent over a request to issue me a brand new device once I got to the store. And a brand new device it is. Everything works excellent. I will upgrade to the note 10 plus and keep this device.

I have no answers for the display time out concerning the refurb. Neither did Asurion at the store.
The Bluetooth issue was an anomaly as well. They really took the time to try and get these devices working before issuing be a new one.

However back to my original statement at the beginning. It all starts in officially assessing and repairing the devices properly. If they are using an independent company to do this, I am sure the answer lies with them!

Glad you got it sorted out and new device.
I'm not sure how the refurbished works or how the check them . To get 3 refurb units bad makes me think how do they pass a refurb off .

Excellent question!
Already pre-ordered a new note 10 plus. Who's to say they don't have their own issues that arise right out of the block. But I can't pass it up. I Always upgraded to the next note and always will I guess.
People have their pet peeves. Mine happen to be an expensive one.
Appreciate the help though, thank you.

Yeah for most part how I use my phones I've been most part trouble free, but your right a new device can welcome new issues, but I think I'm going to preorder the note 10 also keep the note 9 and probably use my pixel 3xl which they giving 600.00
