Note 9 Gaming

Long story short was android guy from very beginning until note 7 recall. Switched to iPhone and upgraded to iPhone 8 plus. Switched back to Note 9 and have been happy with the performance but noticed when playing games CSR Racing 2 and Fortnite that the graphics are considerably better on the iPhone. The lines are so much smoother on the iPhone like AA is turned on with iPhone and off on the Note. Any chance this is something that will be improved with future updates?

I'm actually not sure, I heard something about the note 9s screen settings can effect fornite graphics but I haven't tried for myself. maybe try playing with those a little? do you have performance mode enabled?

Yep I changed performance mode and the screen settings. I didn't turn the screen all the way down but have tried the middle and top setting.

The iPhone is going to be the better phone for gaming most of the time. I don't play a lot of games so it's never bothered me, but if games are more important than productivity I would go with the iPhone.

I play a lot of mobile games on my phone and haven't noticed any difference in quality of performance. This phone along with my previous Note8 handled my gaming really well and the graphics are pretty good, imo

fortnite for android is still fairly new and just came out of beta at the release of the note 9. Give it some time it should improve

..... and the Qualcomm SD Note 9 allegedly has a better GPU than the Samsung Exynos Note 9.

Yeah, I think it just comes down to optimization. Most games and apps are more optimized for iOS. A lot of apps have more flexibility on Android devices though and that's important to me. Unfortunately, that doesn't help with gaming.
