Android Central Question

Hey guys!

Recently I acquired the Galaxy Note 9, I'm still waiting for the phone to get home, and I cannot wait to get on with this bad boy of a phone. Meanwhile, a doubt popped into my head. I think I'll use streaming services on this phone a lot, specially for watching stuff while on the train and such, but I thought: well, if I'm gonna use it that much, might as well just upgrade from my current HD plan to the 4K plan on Netflix, in order to get that sweet downscaled 4K in such a big-*** screen, instead of upscaled 1080p (boo!). However, when I searched in the list of compatible 4K devices on Netflix's help center, the Note 9 is no where to be found (or like any phones at all), and when I asked the customer support about it, they too said it wasn't available for the Note 9.

My question is then targeted to those who have been using the Note 9 and Netflix and might actually tell me how their experience has been. Is the maximum resolution supported only 1080p? How is it? And how is HDR?

Thanks a lot.

No idea if video quality is 1080p or higher. I have mine set to what I think will show videos in the highest resolution available and have no issues. Well, unless I'm in a bad coverage area.

I think 1080 is what you get via the app. On my TV 4K content is specifically marked as 4k content. Not seen this in the app.
However, on such a small screen I would doubt you'll notice any difference.

This. 4K is pointless on a phone screen. Anything above 720p is likely overkill unless you just have really excellent eyesight.
