Hi All

Recently updated my Note Edge to 5.11 and I've noticed that it's no longer responding to the official flip cover being closed.

I did some rudimentary fiddling in Tasker and it seems that the Intent for the opening and closing of the case isn't being triggered. It's possible that this is happening because I modded my flip case to work with wireless charging, however, this worked fine in the previous firmware.

Anyone have any experience with this or is it just me?

Same thing happened to me. I put the original chip back in the flip case and pulled the wireless charging bits and the flip case worked again.

I was hoping you wouldn't say that; I've thrown mine away. Do you mean that once you've replaced the chip it works again, and you basically can't have wireless charging anymore?

I no longer have wireless charging. I found some instructions on another site that said you could get both to work, but you had to do some soldering so that you could use the original 3 pin chip from the flip case along with the wireless charging coils. I decided not to go that rout, for now.

I found this post on XDA Developers:

For 5.1.1 you should use the method for non orginal cover charging.

Just use the small pcb from the flip cover, de-solder the lowest pin to the pcb from the original charging cover and solder with a thin wire ground (f. e. middle connector) and cover detection to the small pcb. Just check the describtion some pages before and adapt it for the original charging item.

Works perfectly like before.

It's a bit of a rubbish description of what needs to be done. If you have a different example of the soldering I'd love to see it; I'd be happy to do the work, but I'd rather know what I'm doing.

That sounds like the same directions I found. It was not clear to me, and I was not willing to take the chance of having two non working cases, so I cut my losses and went back to the non wireless charging flip case.

I have seen some 3rd party wireless charging receivers that will plug in to the micro USB on the bottom of the phone. I may try to see if one of those will fit inside the flip cover.
