Note SGH-i717 Lines Moving Up Screen

In Feb I purchased a used SGH-i717 AT&T Note, I was required to be running Kit Kat for my job and the phone was running ICS so after watching many videos and such I "rooted" (is that the right term) the phone to a KK 4.4 and everything worked great. I had never done anything like this before and consider myself a techie novice. Recently the phone has started having horizontal lines (mostly white) flickering/running vertically up screen. This happens randomly. I cannot make it happen on purpose. It seems to be getting worse. If I reboot the phone they do go away and phone may work fine for a while or immediately start making the lines again. This phone is needed for my job but only needs to work off of wifi and is not active on any network. Any ideas as to what would be causing this problem? Any help would be appreciated I had read some back posts but if the answer to my problem was there I didn't see it.

Usually lines appearing on your screen mean either a video driver issue or a video hardware problem. If you boot your phone into recovery, do you see those lines? If so, it's definitely a hardware issue since the OS isn't really loaded yet and only the basic stuff is active. If it's only while using your phone after booting up, then it could be software and may be fixed if you re-install the ROM you used to update to KitKat.
