Note Users do you have issues using the S-Pen with the Otter Box Defender

I recently purchased a Otter Box Symmetry Clear Case for my Note 7, no screen protection and I am now considering purchasing a Defender Series but I could use some input about how does the screen protection affect the S-Pen. Can you still swipe from the top to get notifications cleared. This is my first Note but I have always used Otter Box as my case of choice.
