Note3 to Pixel XL.

So I'm tired of waiting for Samsung to release the Note7 or 8, or whatever it's supposed to be☺️. And maybe I've gone over to the dark side but this XL is certainly impressive. Various bumps along​ the way, Area Codes, and wifi hiccups and wishing for a stylus (withdrawal symptoms?).
I get better cell reception at work, the Verizon antenna may be closer?, and that's part of the improvements I was looking for, oh yeah and I _don't_ miss the clutter of the AT&T and Samsung apps I never used.
I'll get to speaking Pixel quick enough.
 
Google has "help" pages for the Pixels. So I hied myself over there to see . OK, it says I tap "Let's Go" and with the Note3 connected to the XL by cable (with adapter) I can transfer over contacts, calender, photos, etc.
That's nice ... but "Let's Go" doesn't seem to be there.

for contacts & calendar i always save it to my gmail account so that i dont have to worry about transferring to other phone when switching phone. I am sure u could have done the same with note 3.

Lets go is probably the arrow for enter
 
I tried backing up contacts and calendar on the Note 3. I have a Gmail account but that doesn't seem to work on this phone.
Got to be a short between the ear cups.😁

i would go to contacts app settings and set default to gmail. i have seen that option in other samsung phones. but i might be wrong note 3 might not had that option
 
I have not found a Gmail setting/option in the AT&T/Samsung Calender app. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?

When you back up said items what's the end result? Are you given a file? If so what type? Or . . is this merely a cloud based backup to your Samsung account online?

Having dealt with migration from contacts storage on SIM cards to using an iPhone (with contacts on the cloud years ago) I ended up going cloud based on Gmail and haven't looked back. I would think that the answer for contacts migration is to export your contacts to some format like CSV and then use the import function on Gmail (web browser on a computer) to import the contacts in.

Calendars I don't know about - I've been using outlook and gmail calendars since i started using calendars on my devices so I don't know how to migrate into said systems from any other.
 
I think I've got the Contacts ported over. Note3 to Google, Google to Pixel.
But Calender, hmmm. If there's an export function there I'm not finding it.
It's either a Samsung, therefore baked in, app or AT&T, and almost baked in, I'm still hunting for that export. Going to look at (ugh) Kiees next.
