Note8 gallery issue

My pictures are stored on SD card in dcim folder. Then there are various folders under this folder like camera, final for print, photoshelter, trees, to print, and other folders. In each of these folders are more folders of pictures. Example: in photoshelter folder I have 6 more folders like animals, birds, landscapes and so on.
My huge issue is the gallery. I see albums but the photoshelter folder is not there. It only shows the folders under it such as animals, birds, landscapes. On my note 3 phone the gallery always follows my folder structure. The note8 does not. This is a big organizational problem for me. I have no idea how to fix this.

that's my gallery app of choice. hate Sammy's with a passion. more work and less play.

If you have a .nomedia file in that folder then it won't show anything from that folder in your gallery. You can just remove it and you should be good
