Is there a reason why the little notification bar that has the white symbols in it at the top of the screen would all of a sudden change from black to transparent?

The bar that tells you the battery percentage, etc

Mine is always transparent on the home screen & app drawer. It will change color depending upon the app that is open. When is/was yours black?
