Notification curtain

Is there a way to change the notification curtain to the stock google one? I'm a noob to androind and I've got the EVO, but I'm pretty sure my buddie's droid had the capability to pull the curtain down only partially whereas I have to pull mine down completely. I think he can also control his pandora from the notification curtain and I cannot.

I haven't seen the stock one, so I don't know how it works. I'd be surprised if you can really control Pandora from the curtain. I can tap on the song info in the curtain, and that takes me to Pandora where I can control it.
