Notification for daily calendar event not showing

I have a daily calendar event - a reminder to water the garden - with a reminder set to go off at the start of the event. Some days I get a notification, but often I don't.

I'm on Android 11. I used to have this problem under Android 10, and I was hoping it would go away with the update, but apparently not.

Is anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Is the Calendar app Battery Optimized in the system settings? If so, try turning that off.

Thanks for the suggestion. Battery optimization is turned off for Calendar, and "Allow background activity" is turned on.

I believe the Calendar Storage app is involved in reminders. It also has battery optimization turned off.

Any other power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party batter saver apps? Does this ever happen even when you're actively using the phone?
