Notification help!

I noticed when you get a new SMS, it gives you an audible alert and notication in the top bar but not on the icon on the home screen telling you how many you have. Voicemail gives you top bar notification and how many you have on the icon which is what I want for SMS. Is there a setting I'm missing or something?

Also, is there a setting or app that I can set/use for this on the lockscreen? Or am I outa luck?

You can download a third party launcher like launcher pro. it has an option for missed call count, gmail count and unread message count in the dock bar.

Is Launcher Pro the same as Go Launcher? If not, which one is better?

They are similar. They both do the same thing, just each offers it in its own style. Personally I use launcher pro plus. Thats the paid version.

I have launcher pro plus and used it on my OG Evo. I was hoping I wouldn't have to add another launcher.

use launcher pro, hit menu, go to preferences, then dock settings. You should see gmail, sms, and missed calls notifications. Check them and you'll get the number of missed on the dock
