Notification interuptions during Bluetooth playback

When I have my phone playing music through my car stereo via Bluetooth is there a way to prevent notification sounds from playing through the stereo without disabling completely?
It's annoying when the music cuts out every time an email or text comes in.

The only other way, that I can think of, is to use Tasker to set a profile that will disable all notification sounds during music or Bluetooth connectivity. Otherwise, you'll have to disable the notification or silence the sound volume for notifications.

Use Don't Pause app.

Is the solution as simple as that (turning on DND)?
