Notification limit dropped from 50 to 24 per app in Android 10 notification drawer

Hi everyone!
I have noticed that the notification limits dropped to 24 in Android 10 in the notification's drawer.

Many notifications (more than 50) are very crucial, especially when you use a smartwatch to keep on track with twitter, without checking your smartphone all the time. But, when they put a limit of 24 (which is really low), then I'm forced to delete them, so that I can receive new notifications. It actually negates the use of my smartwatch. Can the user decide which the notifications limit should be (preferably even more than 100, so that there will be no need to check your smartphone at all, cause smartwatch will be enough - really useful when at work)?

Is there a way to change that and increase the limit back to 50 (or even more than 50)?

(I shall mention, that there is already a thread on this matter at https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/23619509?hl=en and it would be very useful to take a look at it too).

Thank you very much in advance!

I was just in a discussion with someone in the Samsung forums who believed this also. It is the Twitter app not Android 10. I cannot link you to that discussion but I asked my friends here for some help to disprove this being an Android 10 thing and few obliged with screenshots of other apps far above 24 or 50. I can link you to that discussion.

Glad I didn't delete this like I was going to... https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...s/997407-device-app-debate-sort-new-post.html

My only advice about app issues is to contact the app developer. There's a link on the app page at the Play Store. I've seen quite a few complaints, if you all start to complain perhaps they'll fix it.

I just noticed this was in the Sprint Galaxy Nexus forum, for the very ancient and venerable original Galaxy Nexus. I moved it to the Android 10 forum instead.

As VidJunky stated above, I responded to the same forum. Here's a screen shot showing over 200 notifications for YouTube. So I believe it is also a per app thing. Hope it helps you! Screenshot_20200412-004636_One%20UI%20Home.jpeg

Hi again!
After the responses above (and thank you for that), I understand that it is probably a per app thing.
I have sent now messages on the matter to twitter support and google support.
I'm waiting now for their responses, if any.
Cheers for now.

I'm nowhere near as tech aware as most of you. I don't have a smart phone nor an account on twitter or even facebook. But I too have a problem (apparently) with the limit on notifications. I've recently changed to an S20 having been advised by a Ring "specialist" that my problem of having unreliable notifications with my Ring Doorbell and Cameras couldn't be fixed on my Huawei P20 Pro. Great phone, by the way. However I've got exactly the same problem on my S20 running Android 11. Numerous conversations with Eufy, several with Ring and 3 video sessions with Samsung before they today said "its the 24 max set for all Apps since Android 9". Ring and Eufy still pretend(??) they don't know. I'm struggling to believe them. Yes I agree we should look at notifications regularly but 24 passers by (or even genuine visitors) isn't a lot for a front door camera. Do I really have to reboot my phone every morning? Surely the App developers are working on a fix even if its a simple delete button?

Welcome to Android Central.

This is an old thread but I believe you should have read some of the comments above that answer at least two of your questions. There is no limit placed on notifications by Android. The limits are set by the app makers. So whatever they told you isn't accurate either because they don't know or because they want to shift the blame. In the screenshots in the thread alone you can see notifications numbers exceeding 24.

As for Ring. I considered getting one not long ago and decided to check reviews about the product. Many of the reviews I read say that the service is vastly unreliable. Notifications that come in 3 to 5 minutes after someone is detected. Issues with visitors never being detected. I read that one in several reviews of packages being delivered and never receiving a notification.

The proof that it is their issue beyond the fact that you switched devices and still have the same issues is all of the negative reviews. For those who leave the positive reviews I don't know if it's the area where they live, so the difference between Spectrum and Tele-Com, or their home routers, Cisco vs Dyna-Met, or they just don't or didn't expect that much from the thing in the first place but the issue is not with you or your equipment per se or at least not your phone.
