How do I turn the sound off for notification while leaving my phone ring on? I see under the settings where I can change the notification sound to different sounds, but not where to turn notification sound off?

notification sound options are all within its own app. ie if you wanna change your google talk notification options, go to google talk, menu, settings. its not all together like on a BB. Also there is only 1 setting. You can't have multiple 'profiles' like you could on your BB.

This is a HUGE step backwards from Storm. I switch profiles all the time depending on the environment. Is "there an app for that?"

Agreed. One of my biggest gripes about it. I've been searching for a good app to do this since I got the phone. Right now I'm using THIS APP and it's just okay. Another user here recommended THIS ONE to me but I'm not sure if I wanna pay for an app like this yet. Still searching for the perfect free one.

The ideal solution to me would be a widget that you could toggle "ringer only on/off" but I still haven't found anything like that.

The sound profiles is the one thing I really do miss from my BB. The sleep mode activated by a holster magnet is the other. Otherwise, the Incredible is incredible.

I came from a Storm so I know what you mean. However In a way, the volume rocker does similar functions. Example being that on my storm I basically used vibrate, lour or normal. You can just adjust the volume bar for different levels of loudness OR rock it down for silent/vibrate mode. I know, it's a little different but you do what you can with what you got.

Settings -> Sound & Display -> Ringer Volume -> Uncheck the Use incoming call volume for notifications - it will then give you a separate slider for notification volume

I agree too. another thing i hate is that when im out at night, i like to keep my phone on vibrate. when doing so, only the sounds that are set on vibrate will vibrate. anything that was set to sound only, will not vibrate. would be nice to have those BB profiles again so i could make everything vibrate on vibrate only mode.

Thanks for the tip. I found that last night. My question is, it still vibrates. Is there a way to stop this when I turn the sound off? The only thing I want it to do at night is ring. No notification of anything other than phone calls. When I uncheck the incoming call volume for notifications and turn down the notification volume, it still vibrates.

I have tried a couple different markets apps and havent come up with a winner as of yet. This is the ONLY thing that makes me want my BB back.
