notification sound?

I made a notification sound on the ringdroid app and set it as the default sound.
but when i recieve a sms it doesn't ring. it plays the sound i set before i had the ringtone.
but the sound works for things like hooking my eris up to my computer or getting a new message on Hi AIM, things like that.
any way to fix this? i've tried turning off and turning on the phone and everything i can think of.

Go into you messages widget and select all messages and then press the menu button and go into settings and select notifications. It worked for me
