I'm not sure if anyone drives for Uber but ever since the pie update my notification sound is so low I can't hear when a ping comes in. Before the pie update the notification sound was very loud. All other notification sounds are fine it's just the Uber driver app. Please help!

Same here. I drive Uber and since yesterday’s update, I’m losing jobs because I can’t hear the ping. If I close all the windows, turn the air con off and have no radio, I can just about hear it.
Please help!

I drive for Uber and I can hear the pings loud and clear. Also because we can remap the bixby button, I would suggest using the button to launch the Uber app that way it overides the overlay.

I will try that thanks

Still having this issue any solutions? Galaxy S10 on Android 9. Just seems to be a problem across all devices running new Android Pie. I've started playing with notifications, different sounds, all volumes turned up, phone completely updated, factory reset, app reinstalled. No Solutions. I cannot hear notifications from The Uber driver app they are extremely silent. The phone also plays a notification sound on top of the apps built in notification sound which uses a sound effect that is not part of Android. It has always been this way. I'm starting to think the notifications are popping up and silencing the background sound of the app as though it is Media playing. Similar to when you are listening to Pandora and you get a text message it silences Pandora for a bit. App notifications and Android notifications are not playing well together. The app needs to have priority but it doesn't.

Any solution would be great as we have heard nothing from any other sources.

Edit: I would like to add that I have done some more testing and I found it completely turning off all notifications does not even silence the Uber trip request notification.

Five minutes ago upon receiving a trip request I attempted to use the volume rocker to increase the volume without accepting the request and I noticed that the volume that it initiated is alarm volume. This means that Uber driver app is relying on the alarm volume bypassing all notifications whatsoever. Of course it is still so quiet I can barely hear it and does not turn up. How do I amplify the sound of the alarm volume for the Uber driver app? I guess we're just waiting on them to fix the problem with an update hopefully it comes sooner than later but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Any expert input on how to increase the alarm volume Channel from The Uber driver app since this is what it uses for notification sounds, would be greatly appreciated.

I agree that's what it does sound like!! I also hope there will be a update for this !! They need to do something about this ASAP.

I just received an Uber driver app update, this is the second one since my Galaxy S10 was released. I logged out, logged back in, restarted the phone, and I still don't get a notification sound from the Uber driver app for trip requests. Volumes are all turned up, notifications are all turned on, alarm volume is turned up.

When is Uber going to fix this? So far my only solution is to have Pandora playing through Bluetooth to my car so that when a trip request comes in it mutes the music for a second...
