Notification sounds

When I go into volume settings there is ring tone and notifications. Notifications being apps that ping me right?

But when I turn my volume down only the ring tone goes down. If I get a notification its loud still. Is there an app that can fix this

Pull down the notification area and toggle the speaker icon, or press the power button and choose silent mode.

I know about silent mode. I'm referring to when I want the sound to be quiet but not off. When it doesn't need to be abusively loud.

Push the volume button. Touch the gear on the screen. Adjust all 3 volumes there.

That's kinda lame. But doable I suppose.

Well the only reason I say it's lame is I know that HTC kinda links it together. And when you change one you change the other.
